How to Do Effective Intermittent Fasting?

A sedentary lifestyle has become easy-peasy for many of us, including mine. We eat a lot of crap, barely get a home-cooked meal that has increased unnecessary fat in the body. Finding a solution to cut the crap is easy, but being consistent with gym and exercising seems difficult. But, by doing Intermittent fasting, we can lose an immense amount of fat from our body, it may shape into the desired format. If we add a pinch of salt means a bit of exercise every day, it will work well.

By doing so, we can easily lose weight. SO why don’t we give it a try? I’ve been doing it for 5 weeks. Male, 5″ 7′, and 28 years old. I started doing it exactly 5 weeks ago. In the first week, I lost whopping 3 pounds. That was water-fat which I lost. The actual marathon was started after the first week. I did see 1 pound crap-cutting in a week.

Types of Intermittent Fasting

There are various ways to follow intermittent fasting, I chose the 18:6 rule. It could be difficult if you have never tried. I, too never tried ever before, but I’ve been doing. I felt immense hungry at the beginning, but now it has become easy, never feel like having snacks what I used to do.


How to start if you are a beginner?

If you are a beginner and continue it until you get your desired results. You must start from the 16:8 rule, which is very effective, later on, you can move to 18:6, 18:4, and so on. But never starve yourself if it becomes an issue. During IF, you may see muscle loss, that’s why it’s important to start from 16:8 with light exercise.

In the first one or two weeks, you may see a good weight loss depending on your current weight. Later on, it will be a bit slower, which is also good. It’s highly recommendable to have more than 1200 calories deficit if you are men, for women, it’s a minimum of 1500.

You can choose any window to eat and fast, but make sure you should keep sleeping time in the fasting window. Let’s say, if you are fasting 16:8, you can eat between 10 AM to 6 PM, then fast for the remaining hours. Or choose what fits the best for you.

How does it work?

When you cut those extra calories, you see fat loss, and it starts getting converted into energy. You may start feeling light and energetic. Cutting extra calories will you even if you do only IF, but if you add 30 minutes of exercise a day. It will help you feel much fitter very soon.


I have lost 6 pounds in 5 weeks by doing IF with light exercise just walking 8k-10k steps a day. I am not taking anything above water during fasting. Sometimes, I take a cup of coffee without sugar and milk before 5 PM. I eat between 8 AM to 2 PM window and keep fasting for the rest of 18 hours, including sleep. I chose 8 AM because I didn’t want to skip my breakfast. But many people skip breakfast and keep eating window in the afternoon till evening. So try what is best for you.

Feeling tired, dizzy, etc?

If you are feeling uneasy by doing this, have a call with your doctor. It may or may not work for everyone. It’s very simple, but making it hard is not a good solution. Losing muscles instead of fat might cause other health problems, so consult before continuing it.
